In most cases, documents should NOT be signed before the appointment.
The notary must witness the signer place their signature on the document.
However, some documents use a type of notarization called an acknowledgment, where the signer may confirm that the signature on the document is theirs even if it was signed earlier.
Because notarization requirements vary depending on the document, it is best to leave documents unsigned until the notary instructs you to sign.
-
If a document has already been notarized, the notary cannot notarize the same signature again.
However, there may be situations where a new notarization can be completed, such as:
• The document needs to be re-signed with a new notarization
• The original notarization was completed incorrectly
• The receiving agency requires a new notarized documentIf you are unsure, please contact Beautiful Wealth Notary before booking so we can help determine the best next step.

A typical notarization appointment is simple and usually takes only a few minutes.
During the appointment:
Identity Verification – The notary will review each signer’s valid government-issued photo identification.
Document Review – The notary will confirm that the document is complete and that the notarial certificate is present.
Signer Confirmation – The notary will confirm that the signer understands the document and is signing willingly.
Signing the Document – The signer will sign the document in the presence of the notary (unless the notarization is an acknowledgment of a previously signed document).
Notarial Completion – The notary will complete the notarial certificate and apply the official notary seal.
The process is typically quick and designed to ensure that documents are executed properly and securely.
